Another Christmas is coming and every year during the weeks before Santa’s arrival, our thoughts are focussed on Christmas shopping and making Christmas day special, with parties and lots of nice food.

Since 2012, there has been the opportunity to make Christmas even more special with an event running in December. It gives us the chance to celebrate the Christmas atmosphere and to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves: this is Christmas Jumper Day.

If you’ve never heard about it, Christmas Jumper Day, now in its third year, is an annual fundraising campaign in the UK organised by the charity Save the Children. This is an international non-governmental organisation that promotes children’s rights, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries.

The Christmas Jumper Day held in December, encourages people to raise funds for Save the Children by wearing a Christmas jumper and making a minimum donation of £1. Those taking part can wear a Christmas jumper they already own, decorate an existing jumper with festive decorations, or even knit their own.

This year, Christmas Jumper Day is being held today, Friday 12 December, don’t miss the chance to celebrate this important event and support lots of children. Wear your old jumper with pride!

Let know us what do you think about Christmas Jumper day and don’t forget to share with us your picture in Christmas Jumper outfit!
